Not sure if this should be in plots or not.
Ok, lately I seem to be inspired by Icarus, not so much as the story but what it felt to fly and the fall. His last thoughts, if any at all. The emotions that had to be inside him as he fell and then drowned. I mean for some reason this story really bothers me. Like the story isn't finished, or something major has been left out and it wants to be told.
Is it just me or does the song by Kanye West - Amazeing seem to fit his tale?
Are any of you familure(sp?) with the story of Icarus? Just in case your not, heres what i could find
Icarus' father, Daedalus, a talented, remarkable craftsman, attempted to escape from his exile in the place of Crete, where he and his son were imprisoned at the hands of King Minos, the king for whom he had built the Labyrinth to imprison the Minotaur (half man, half bull). Daedalus, the superior craftsman, was exiled because he gave Minos' daughter, Ariadne, a clew of string in order to help Theseus, the enemy of Minos, survive the Labyrinth and defeat the Minotaur.
Daedalus fashioned two pairs of wings out of wax and feathers for himself and his son. Before they took off from the island, Daedalus warned his son not to fly too close to the sun, nor too close to the sea. Overcome by the giddiness that flying lent him, Icarus soared through the sky curiously, but in the process he came too close to the sun, which melted the wax. Icarus kept flapping his wings but soon realized that he had no feathers left and that he was only flapping his bare arms. And so, Icarus fell into the sea in the area which bears his name, the Icarian Sea near Icaria, an island southwest of Samos.
Hellenistic writers who provided philosophical underpinnings to the myth also preferred more realistic variants, in which the escape from Crete was actually by boat, provided by Pasiphaë, for which Daedalus invented the first sails, to outstrip Minos' pursuing galleys, and that Icarus fell overboard on route to Sicily and drowned. Heracles erected a tomb for him.
But enough of that musing and down to the business musing.
I was thinking of perhaps a Character for here based on him (Witch i could do on my own) or a site for the untold story or fanfiction/Fanart for him. with Daily highlights and such (Witch I might need help with)
Would you guys be interested in such a site? Do you know anyone who would be? Any thoughts or helpful tips? Feel free to sent them by me.
