Name: Torin Nathaniel Kosa
Age: twenty-one
Gender: male
Species: Garou
Class: commoner
Hobbies: Torin enjoys spending time with his parents and younger siblings. When their lives were threatened by the inquisition, he realized very quickly how much his entire family meant to him and even though they’re having a little bit of trouble readjusting to the world, this big brother is going to stand by everyone’s side no matter the consequence.
Appearance: Torin’s features are comprised of the softness and subtlety of a man that spent his childhood at ease, celebrating a love for life and a genuine happiness that so many seem to lack. He has eyes of the deepest amber with depths that portray every flash and flitter of emotion felt by their possessor. Hair of raven hue is cut short and kept in messy disarray – evidence of preoccupation and distracted behavior. Time seems to have crept upon this young fellow in a rather unusual fashion, claiming his once-youthful expressions and transforming them into that of a weary, pained man haunted by his own past. His innocence is a tragic tale due in large part to – as he sees it – the growing rift between his family members.
Though he’s only twenty-one, Torin has the aged look of a man ten or so years older, with darkened crescents beneath his eyes and a hallowed gaze that once held so much love. He’s lanky for his body structure and appears to be quite underfed – even though that’s far from the case. As a wolf, Torin is a majestic creature bearing the same above-average height as his human shape and harboring only a longing desire for peace and tranquility. His fur is a dark, chocolate brown along the length of his muzzle and down the area of his spine. A rich, golden brown rises to meet this darker coloration, fading gently into the subtle hues of beige along his legs and belly. He has white toes and a few darker spots along the insides of his legs, freckle-like in appearance.
Personality: once upon a time, Torin was a carefree young man with a fondness for practical jokes. He spent his days roughhousing with his brothers and driving the rest of his family bonkers with mischievous habits. He’s always been a very kindhearted and genuine soul – a lover more than a fighter – but since his family’s terrifying experience in the Shire, Torin has become a quieter and more reserved individual. He cherishes the lives of those dearest to him and a protective tendency has developed where once there had been a carefree soul. He’s the typical older brother now that seeks to give orders and tries his best to look out for those most important to his life.
He can be a little overbearing sometimes but his intentions are always pure. Raised in a very loving and just household, this boy also has a very strong moral streak. He’s the type that will return any amount of discovered money or valuable item and never hesitate nor regret in the process. Torin is a mild-mannered individual but if anyone ever threatens his kin, he becomes quite a monster. Though no one would ever notice it at first glance, there’s also a frightening rage slowly festering inside the boy. He feeds this rage with all of his disappointments and failures, gradually grooming the fevered beast for a disastrous awakening. As the saying goes: “… it’s always the quiet ones.”
History: Torin had a somewhat rough beginning in life. Born out of wedlock, the stigma of the day imposed on him a sense of inferiority from a very young age. He tried desperately to rid himself of this belittling self-image, but his complex had taken root in the very soul of his subconscious. He turned to humor to rid himself of the emotions and developed a profound love for practical jokes. He vented his frustrations and ‘shortcomings’ in his laughter and torment of others, earning him a rather mischievous reputation in his family.
His hometown was a cozy place called Shire that offered little in the way of women or friends of any kind. He’d always dreamed of bigger and better things and shared many of his convictions with his younger siblings. Growing up close to the other children, Torin wanted nothing to do with authority or responsibility… until his family was accused of witchcraft, that is. In one violent night, everything the young man had known was ripped apart.
He awoke in the middle of the night to his mother’s urgent calls. Rushed out of the house with his brothers and sisters, Torin was instructed by his parents to follow along with the neighboring Richard clan – fellow accused evacuees of Shire – while both his father and mother distracted their pursuers. Uncertain of himself, Torin at first rejected the responsibility of looking after his family but when his little sister, Amelia, tried to go back for their parents, he tried his best to take command.
Permanently scarred by what transpired that night and their desperate wandering in the local countryside, Torin became a changed man. Met by his parents a few days later, the family moved to his mother’s place of birth – a fabled ‘City of Wolves’. His sense of humor had died with his sister’s lover and Torin has since been consumed by a sense of duty and an overly-protective mentality toward his family. He wants nothing more than to see them at peace, safe from harm and from anything like what had happened in Shire.
